Jim Wallace, founder of Wallace Garcia Wilson Architects graduated from Ohio State University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He became a registered architect in Texas in 1975. He was one of the founders of Steinberg/Wallace + Associates in 1980. He later founded Wallace + Associates in 1987 and Wallace/Garcia + Associates, Inc. in 1994 which later became Wallace Garcia Wilson Architects in 2006.
Jim has specialized in the design and planning of multi-family housing developments for over 40 years and has been involved in the design of residential communities for multi-family, urban housing, student housing and senior living communities in over twenty-nine States throughout the country. He has been involved in the design of more than 400,000 residential units in over 1000 developments. These developments include low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise construction.
Jim has won numerous national design awards over the years. He is a member of The Houston Chapter of The American Institute of Architects, The Texas Society of Architects, and The National American Institute of Architects and has served as an appointed member on its National Housing Committee. He is an active member with the Houston Apartment Association and is a founding member of the Developers Committee. He has been a frequent speaker for the Urban Land Institute and at The Multi-Housing World Conference.
