Alex graduated from The University of Texas in 1980 with a Bachelors of Architecture and is a registered architect in the State of Texas. Alex began working for Jim Wallace in 1980 and later, became a partner of Wallace/Garcia & Associates in 1994. Wallace Garcia Wilson Architects was later formed in 2006 and Alex is an executive of the firm.

Alex has over thirty years of experience in the Architectural industry specializing in multi-family, student housing and senior living developments. Alex’s expertise is in design, planning and construction documentation of low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise, garden-style, wraps, podiums, lofts, mixed-use and HUD developments. He is certified by The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is presently registered in fourteen states.

Alex is on the City of Houston’s Construction Industry Council (CIC) committee to review the International Building Code for the City of Houston’s Building Department. In addition, he has been involved with the design of multi-family projects to meet the requirements of the Federal Fair Housing Act since its inception, now spanning over 20 years.
